Repect Kumble for his achievements; cannot share details from dressing room, says Kohli

INDIA SKIPPER Virat Kohli has asserted that he respects Anil Kumble and his decision to step down from the top job.

Kohli’s statement has come after he removed a year-old post congratulating the legendary leggie on his appointment as the head coach. Despite deleting the tweet, the prolific batsman refrained from giving away any details from the dressing room. The Delhi-lad further emphasised that he respects Kumble’s achievements as a player and as a coach. Kohli, who is in Trinidad to lead India in its first ODI against Windies, said,

“What happens in the change room is something that’s very sacred and private to all of us, and something that I would not express in details in a public scenario. His point of view is out there and we respect that decision. I have total respect for him as a cricketer and what he has achieved. There’s no taking away that aspect of him at all and we respect him totally.”

The men in blue have flown to the Caribbean to play five ODIs and a T20, starting June 23.
