Dhawan, Shami return to the Indian squad for 2017 Champions Trophy
THE BCCI has announced the squad for the ICC Champions Trophy that is scheduled to kick off on June 1, this year.
The announcement has come amidst a logjam between the ICC and the Indian cricket board. Ahead of the BCCI Special General Meeting (SGM) on May 8, there was uncertainty looming over India's participation in the Champions Trophy.
The players who have earned their selection in the 15-man squad are Kohli(C), Shikhar, Rohit, Rahane, Dhoni, Yuvraj, Kedar, Hardik, Ashwin, Jadeja, Shami, Umesh, Bhuvi, Bumrah & Manish.
The Virat Kohli-led side will play two practice games ahead of the major tournament. They will play New Zealand on May 28 and Bangladesh on May 30. Both the games will be played at The Oval.
In their first match of the Champions Trophy, India will lock horns with arch-rivals Pakistan at Birmingham on June 4.
