Sindhu storms into the China Open SF; Ajay falls prey to Chen Long

SEVENTH SEED PV SINDHU continues her winning run at the China Open Superseries Premier as she has booked a place in the semi-finals after beating He Bingjiao 22-20, 21-10. China Open has been her best performance so far since Rio Olympics and Sindhu also bettered her performance against an in-form Bingjiao.

After this match the head-to-head count is 3-4. Though it was a straight game victory but not an easy one. In the first game, both put up a neck-to-neck performance. At one stage it felt like the Chinese might win but Sindhu was determined to go for the kill.

Second game was an easy one, it looked like the Indian was in a hurry to seal a berth in the semi-finals. She will face 6th seed Sung Ji Hyun.

Meanwhile, unseeded Ajay Jayaram was playing the second seed and top shuttler among the men's singles category, Chen Long.

And no surprises here as the Chinese triumphed over the India in straight games 21-15, 21-14. But Ajay put up a good fight, pushing Chen to steal the match away from the former.

Though Ajay gave his best, Chen was just too good and took the result in his favour.
