Ajay Jayaram crashes out in the QF of the Indonesia GPG
IT'S THE END of the road for the lone Indian shuttler Ajay Jayaram in the men's singles category at the Indonesia Masters Grand Prix Gold today. 11th seed Shi Yuqi from China thrashed Ajay in straight games 21-12, 21-10.
The Chinese displayed dominance throughout the match, leaving no room for Ajay to get back. Within a blink of an eye, Ajay was losing points. The third seed began the second game on a positive note, leading by a margin of 3-4 points. It felt like the match would go into the decider but the Chinese was in a hurry to finish the match.
From 7-7 in the second game, Yuqi won six consecutive points to take a lead of 13-7 and then Ajay failed to make a comeback and eventually lost the match.
