Saina Nehwal admitted to hospital to undergo knee surgery
WORLD NO. 5 SAINA NEHWAL was admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad yesterday to undergo a knee surgery because of which she failed to qualify to the knockout stage at the Rio Olympics.
She lost her final group stage match but fought till the end with the excruciating pain.
"Saina has been hospitalised for the last two days and is undergoing treatment for her injury, which got worse during her match against Maria at Rio Olympics,” her father Harvir Singh told PTI.
She suffered this injury while training for Olympics and it aggravated during the match.
Her father further added,
"The doctors have not revealed the contents of the MRI scan to me. I will be able to talk about it tomorrow, not today."
He also said that the shuttler's doctor has referred her to a hospital in Mumbai for further treatment.
"The doctors here have referred her case to a hospital at Mumbai, and she will be flying from Hyderabad."
