PV Sindhu storms into the SF at Olympics beating Wang Yihan in straight games

THE NINTH SEED women's singles shuttler PV Sindhu enters her first ever Olympics semi-final after beating the World No. 2 Wang Yihan of China in straight games 22-20, 21-19.

Sindhu has been in her form this Olympics, displaying courage and grit, smashing out all her opponents. Two of them being medal prospects. Going into the Olympics, she held an outside chance at winning a medal and now after everyone faltered she holds the best chance of winning one.

At Olympics, expect the tide to change. In Sindhu's case, the luck is in her favour and so is her performance. In the semis, she will be up against Japanese Nozomi Okuhara. The head-to-head count favours the sixth seed.

Later today, men's singles shuttler Kidambi Srikanth will be in action against Lin Dan.
