Srikanth begins his campaign with a win against Mexican Lino Munoz

MEN'S SINGLES SHUTTLER Kidambi Srikanth had a great first day outing at his debut Olympics appearance. He defeated Lino Munoz of Mexico in straight games 21-11, 21-17 in Group H match.

The 9th seed Indian was facing Munoz for the first time and the result wasn't surprising. But Srikanth to fight hard to earn this win as Munoz put immense pressure hitting back at the former.

Now the Indian needs to show the same fighting spirit against Henri Hurskainen in the second group stage match which will be held on 14th August.
