Smashing all the way: A comfortable victory for PV Sindhu in her opening match

PLAYING IN HER first Olympics, PV Sindhu trumped Laura Sarosi of Hungary 21-8, 21-9 in her opening match of Group M.

These two were playing against each other for the first time and as expected it was an easy win for the 9th seed Indian.

Known for her ferocious smashes, Sindhu dominated the match completely winning the first game.

At the start of the second game, it looked like the Hungarian might make a comeback and put Sindhu to test. But the Indian just didn't relent. With the fans cheering, Sindhu claimed the second game and the match.

She will next play Canadian shuttler Michelle Li on 14th August.
