Know your shuttlers: Saina, the most experienced of them all; great platform for the first timers

THERE ARE 21 days left for the shuttlers to begin their campaign at the most prestigious event, the Olympics held in Rio, Brazil. This year India has the maximum number of shuttlers that will represent, seven to be precise. Among them for the first time India will have representation in the men's doubles category. Thanks to the pairing of Manu Attri and Sumeeth Reddy.

There are also two more new faces, PV Sindhu in the women's singles and Kidmabi Srikanth in the men's singles category. Saina Nehwal will appear in her third Olympics and women's doubles duo of Jwala Gutta/Ashwini Ponnappa their second.

Now to echo what the national chief coach Pullela Gopichand said that all these shuttlers stand a chance to win a medal. We would love that but it is too much to expect!

More than anything, numbers speak volume. Let's take a look at how these shuttlers are expected to perform in Rio.
