It's a great honour and privilege to represent RCB in the finals: ABD

ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE'S ICON AB de Villiers, who hasn’t been fortunate enough in his career to play many finals, said that he feels ‘honoured and privileged’ to feature in the finals of IPL-9. With an unbeaten 75, the explosive batsman guided RCB to a four-wicket win over Gujarat Lions.

At the post-match press conference, AB said,

“To be in IPL final means much to me and I have not played in a lot of finals throughout my career. Having played for RCB for six years have not seen playing in finals. It is a great honour and privilege to be in the finals with this great franchise which has looked after me and the team over the years.”

Chasing a total of 159, RCB batting order had crumbled to 29 with the loss of five wickets, However, ‘Mr. 360’ played a stunning knock to script a sensational comeback. The South African said that he was delighted that the team had made it to finals and he hopes to lift the IPL trophy this year.

“Lot of people were saying we were under performing but moments like this makes things worthwhile. We had a great team spirit for some years now, and have played some good cricket. But never got to really enjoy the finals and hopefully we will win it but we don’t know what’s going to happen.”
