Virat and AB are unstoppable just like Batman-Superman: Gayle

ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE opener Chris Gayle praised team skipper Virat Kohli of being a 'complete player' and compared him and South Africa captain AB de Villiers to fictional characters ‘Batman’ and ‘Superman’. In an interview with iplt20.com, the Jamaican heaped praises on the extraordinary duo.

“Those two guys are playing like ‘Batman and Superman’. They are in the form of their lives, especially Kohli. They should continue pressing the gas, don’t ease up and fill their boots with as much runs as possible. They are doing a phenomenal job for RCB.”

Having amassed a total of 1349 runs in 12 matches, Kohli and ABD are the top-two leading run-getters of the season. ‘Universe Boss’ Chris Gayle wants the duo to continue their stellar show to help Bangalore franchise qualify for playoffs.

“It’s fantastic, they [Kohli and AB] are batting under pressure as well. Credit must go to both of them. Kohli leading from the front is even better. Overall, it’s a great team effort. Those guys may have contributed in all the 12 games so far. Hopefully, they can continue and put us in winning position.”

The 36-year-old is mighty impressed with Kohli’s consistency and he did not hesitate to call the skipper a ‘complete cricketer’.

"I must congratulate him (Kohli) on achieving this. Two more games and may be he can get 900 runs. If we qualify for the playoffs, 1000 as well, who knows. It's always about determination. He's a person who is never satisfied. He always wants to get better, which is good. It always isn't about power hitting. It's about right shot selection and he's very fit as well. He throws himself around the field. (He's a) complete cricketer."
