Have to step up and complement the batsmen, says RCB Paceman Richardson

ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE fast bowler Kane Richardson believes it’s time for the bowlers to step up and complement the batsmen. The Bangalore bowlers failed to protect a massive total of 180 against Gujarat Lions at the Rajkot. Following the match, Dwayne Smith took a dig at the RCB bowling attack saying even a target of 200 could have been chased by them.

The Aussie pacer conceded that their bowlers have been low on confidence but will try and get the discipline back. As quoted by cricbuzz, the 25-year old bowler said,

"There is obviously pressure because everybody is talking about our bowling group letting our batsmen down. The only thing we have to do is try and repay the batmen for all the hard work they have been doing and we have to do that by starting to take wickets. That's what we are aiming to do."

The paceman who had earlier featured in the IPL for the Rajasthan Royals wants to repay the faith bowling coach Allan Donald has had in him.

"Donald has been good, he is relaxed and keeps it simple. We have to repay him for all the hard work he puts in. Having worked with a few of them before joining RCB had my confidence up."

The seamer added that the bowlers were lucky to receive batsmen’s help in the nets.

"In the nets, they just let the bowl and don't go for the big shots. Shane (Watson) helps a lot because he is the leader of the bowling attack and is a frontline batsman too. So we are pretty lucky to have guys like him around."
