Jayaram top seed for Mexico City GP; Atrri/Reddy at no.3

MEN'S SINGLES SHUTTLER Ajay Jayaram and men's doubles shuttlers Manu Attri/ B Sumeeth Reddy gear up for the Mexico City Grand Prix which is set to begin on Tuesday in Mexico.

Jayaram is seeded no. 1 in his category which will give him a boost and he is also the lone face representing the country in men's singles. The last few tournaments have not been great for the shuttler as he was up against the top shuttlers and therefore, was ousted in the first and second round.

Later on, he had a better run at the Korea Open where he was the runner-up and then clinched the Dutch Open title for the second time this year. The 28-year-old has been marred with injuries but is all pumped for his final tournament of this year.

He has been training hard which would help him get back to top form,

"I have been training hard for the past few months; got a few good results in September. Even after that I played a few good matches. So as far as the training bit is concerned, it's been faring well. I need to continue doing what I'm doing and have brought about a few changes here and there which seemed to have worked well," as told to TOI.

He posted on his official Twitter account that he has landed in Mexico looking all happy. One can expect him to make a good start in Mexico.

The doubles shuttlers Manu Attri and his partner B Sumeeth Reddy have been the silent heroes participating at various tournaments. Last tournament was the US GP where they were ousted in the semi-final round.

They are seeded no. 3, performance wise they have been good but they have to work on being consistent instead of bowing out of tournaments when coming close to acquiring titles.

The Mexico GP would be a great opportunity for them to get back to winning ways and see their effort bear fruits in form of titles.
