Attri/Reddy move into R2 while Anand Pawar qualifies for R3 at Scottish Open
ELEVENTH SEED Aanand Pawar and top seeds Manu Attri/ B Sumeeth Reddy have qualified into the next round after winning their respective matches of the Scottish Open Gold Prix in Glasgow on Thursday.
The men's doubles pair Manu Attri and B Sumeeth Reddy moved to round 2 after beating unseeded French pair Bastian Kersaudy/Gaetan Mittelheisser 21-14, 17-21, 21-17 in Glasgow on Thursday. Their second round opponent is Christopher Coles (England)/Jelle Maas (Netherlands).
While the other pair of Venkatesh Prasad/Jagadish Yadav lost to eighth seed French pair Bptiste Careme/Ronan Labar in straight sets 9-21, 11-21.
The lone shuttler in the men's singles category Pawar moved to the third round after beating Alen Roj of Slovakia in straight sets 21-17, 21-15. He will next face Dieter Domke of Germany. Pawar leads by 1-0 in the head-to-head count against the German.
In the women's category Tanvi Lad was ousted after she went down fighting against second seed Beatriz Corrales of Spain 21-18, 14-21, 15-21.
