Last night's hero Leo Moura celebrates birthday, wishes pour in from fans
AN INTEGRAL MEMBER OF THE 7-Brazilian 'Samba Spine' that has propelled FC Goa's ascent to the top of the table, Leonardo da Silva Moura, popularly known as Leo Moura, is celebrating his birthday today after playing a major role in his team's victory against Kerala Blasters last night.
The medio from Niteroi, who turns 36 today, led FC Goa's comeback into the match from a deficit by scoring their first goal seconds before the first half came to a close. The well-timed equalizer allowed Zico to go into the break with a lighter mind and devise a strategy to push for victory rather than chase the game in the second half.

Leo Moura played just one match for the Brazilian national team, but his illustrious club career stands him in good stead. After making his presence fent in major Brazilian clubs like Palmeiras, Sao Paulo and Fluminense, he found his home in Flamengo where he spent ten successive seasons, becoming a de facto club legend by the time he moved on earlier this year.
A creative footballer, he has played both as a right back and a midfielder in his professional career, which has made him a crucial utility player for Zico. He has played a couple of useful cameos for FC Goa, before getting his first goal for the franchise yesterday.
As wishes poured in for the player, Moura himself went online and posted a few words of gratitude towards God for the journey he has had so far, saying,
"Thank you Lord for giving me the grace to complete another year of life! Happy for everything that has happened until now in my life... I am completely in love and grateful to you Jesus!"
His team, too, duly wished their treasured player happy birthday.
