Durand Cup 2023 HIGHLIGHTS: FC Goa's mistakes hand NorthEast United a point

FC GOA SQUANDERED an opportunity to practically ensure qualification for the quarter finals, and had to settle for a draw with NorthEast United in the Durand Cup.

The Gaurs conceded their first mistake due to an elementary error from their goalkeeper Dheeraj halfway into first half, which Manvir Singh capitalised on.

Although before the break Rowllin Borges got them level, soon after the match resumed Sandesh Jhingan mistakenly sent the ball into his own net and awarded NEUFC their second goal.

However, FC Goa stayed in the hunt and 80 minutes in Noah Wail, who had scored a hat-trick in the previous game, rose to the occasion again and got the Gaurs level.

With this draw, both FC Goa and NorthEast United are at 4 points from 2 matches. Both of them have their last Group D game against local club Downtown Heroes FC, so who gets the top spot will come down to goal difference.
