Rajasthan Royals Cricket Cup becomes India's biggest U-19 women's competition

RAJASTHAN ROYALS ARE setting a new bar in Indian cricket with the upcoming Rajasthan Royals Cricket Cup.

The IPL franchise's tournament, which is aimed at developing young talent, is adopting an inter-school format in this edition.

Set to begin from 5th September, the tournament will become India's biggest U-19 women's cricket competition. More than 50 schools from across the state of Rajasthan are set to take part in it.

For RR the focus on talent development makes sense, with the rising popularity of women's cricket in India. Just like in football, teams that develop their own talent benefit in the long run thanks to higher quality local players that also cost less.
