44 TITLES: Lionel Messi makes history; becomes record-holder of most titles ever

LIONEL MESSI DID a lot of things during his first month at his new club Inter Miami.

He debuted for the struggling MLS team in the Leagues Cup, scored on his debut, then kept scoring and got them a winning run, and scored again in the Leagues Cup final to win the club's first ever trophy. He became the highest scorer and the best player of the tournament.

But the trophy wasn't just special for Inter Miami but his own career and legacy as well. With this, Messi has won 44 titles, across every continent of Earth, becoming the most decorated player of all time.

He won the World Cup with Argentina last year. The Copa America the year before. He's won 10 La Liga titles with Barcelona, along with for UEFA Champions League and 3 FIFA Club World Cup crowns. He's also won the Ligue 1 twice with Paris Saint-Germain. That's just to mention the major titles; not to mention his 7 FIFA Ballon d'Or and several other individual honours.

Messi, at 36, has completed the game of football; and he's not showing any sign of slowing down.
