Badminton Legend Prakash Padukone conferred with Lifetime Achievement Award by BAI
INDIAN BADMINTON legend Prakash Padukone who was the first shuttler to bring the country onto the map of world badminton has been conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award by BAI.

The 1980 All England title changed his career and was the big beginning for the growth of the sport in India. After that we've had a rise of shuttlers and champions and India has come a long way since then.

The only Indian male player to reach World No.1 ranking will be awarded a cash award of INR 10 Lakhs and a citation.
This was announced last year in September and ceremony was held in Delhi whilst the opening ceremony of the India Open which has been renamed to late Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta India Open.
