A biopic to be made on Indian badminton coach Gopichand

INDIAN BADMINTON has been on the steady rise for the past one year. Shuttlers have been in huge demand therefore. There has also been a trend of making biopic on sports personalities in Bollywood.

Fans are eagerly waiting for the much awaited Saina Nehwal biopic and now they can rejoice even more. As the man behind her early success, not just hers but many other shuttlers like PV Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth, HS Prannoy etc. the national chief coach of Indian badminton Pullela Gopichand is now set to have a biopic made on his playing and coaching life.

As the former player and current coach turns a year older today, film trade analyst and journalist Taran Adarsh took to social media to make the announcement of the biopic.

Talking about the biopic, Gopichand told Mumbai Mirror,

"Badminton is at an inflexion point in our country and nothing delights me more than to see the rapidly growing interest for the sport, especially with the youth. I would be proud if by sharing my story as a film, we can encourage more and more people to pursue their dreams. I am excited with the developments on the film and look forward to Vikram (Singh, CEO of Fox Star Studios) and Fox Star taking this film to the masses."
