US GPG: Prannoy to lead the Indian contingent; Sameer returns to action

HS PRANNOY missed out on the Canada GP but once again seeded No. 2, he will look to have a good start to the tournament which would help him get closer to the title this time.

Sameer Verma returns to court and will be raring to perform after being forced to withdraw from Canada due to visa issues. The 5th seed Indian begins his campaign against Hoang Nam Nguyen.

It is a tough start to the campaign of Parupalli Kashyap as he plays top seed Lee Hyun Il in the first round but it will be a great twist to the tournament if the former can pull in a surprise.

Harsheel Dani plays Arturo Hernandez in first round; Lakhnee Sarang plays Kenta Nishimoto while Abhishek Yelegar plays 3rd seed Brice Leverdez.

The Indian shuttlers competing in the women's singles category are Reshma Karthik, Rituparna Das, Sai Uttejitha, Ruthvika Shivani and Sri Krishna Priya.

Priya plays Maya Chen in the opening round; Ruthvika plays 3rd seed Aya Ohori; Uttejitha plays Gayle Mahulette; Rituparna will play Rachel Honderich and Reshma plays Sofie Dahl in the first round. Saina Nehwal has withdrawn from the tournament.

Men doubles features 4th seeds Satwiksairaj/Chirag Shetty, Francis Alwin/Kona Tarun and 3rd seeds Manu Attri/Sumeeth Reddy. Satwik/Chirag play Kohei Gondo/Tatsuya Watanabe in first round; Alwin/Kona will face Yan Tuck Chan/Brian Chi Cheng; Attri/Sumeeth play Jason Ho-Shue/Nyl Yakura.

Jakkampudi Meghana/Poorvisha Ram begin their campaign in the women's doubles against Rira Kawashima/Saori Ozaki; Kuhoo Garg/Ningshi Hazarika plays 3rd seeds Anastasia/Olga Morozova.

Finally, in the mixed doubles category there are three Indian pairs. 3rd seeds Pranaav Jerry Chopra/Sikki Reddy being their campaign Ben Lane/Jessica Pugh. Attri/Maneesha K plays Nyl Yakura/Brittney Tam while Tarun/Meghana will face Tuan Duc Do/Nhu Thao Pham.
