Canada GP: Prannoy, Attri/Reddy & Pranaav/Sikki enter pre-QF
IT WAS A GOOD day for HS Prannoy, defending champions Manu Attri/Sumeeth Reddy and mixed doubles duo Pranaav Jerry Chopra/Sikki Reddy as they enter the pre-quarters of Canada Grand Prix.
Second seed Prannoy defeated Kieran Merrilees 21-17, 16-21, 21-15 to set up a clash against 9th seed Jeon Hyeok Jin.
Third seeds Attri/Sumeeth trumped Kohei Gondo/Tatsuya Watanabe 21-15, 21-19. They will play Choi Solgyu/Jae Hwan Kim next. Second seeds Pranaav/Sikki defeated Daniel Regal/Danica Nishimura 21-10, 21-19 and will play Robin Tabeling/Cheryl Seinen next.
The young guns like Abhishek Yelegar and Karan Rajan too booked a spot in the pre-quarters of the men's singles contest. Abhishek defeated Howard Shu 21-10, 19-21, 21-17 to set up a clash against 5th seed Pablo Abian. Karan beat Sam Parsons 21-16, 21-14 to play Koki Watanabe next.
Tarun Kona/Meghana Jakkampudi stunned 8th seeds Nyl Yakura/Brittney Tam 21-13, 22-20 to play Kohei Gondo/Wakana Nagahara next.
It wasn't a great day for 16th seed Parupalli Kashyap, Lakhnee Sarang, Alwin Francis/Kona Tarun and Poorvisha Ram/Jakkampudi as they ended their campaign at the tournament.
