Chinese Taipei GPG: Sourabh stunned; Siril, Harsheel & co. in RD 2

SOURABH VERMA, the highest seeded Indian at the Chinese Taipei Grand Prix Gold was stunned in the opening round. The 4th seed Indian lost to Lee Zii Jia 19-21, 20-22.

He was the favourite among the Indian shuttlers who did have a chance to inch closer to the title. But now the attention will be shifted on Siril Verma, Harsheel Dani, Abhishek Yelegar as they have begun their campaign with a win.

16th seed Siril defeated Wei Chi Liu 21-11, 10-21, 21-19; 14th seed Harsheel Dani trumped Lee Chak Wai 21-12, 21-14; 15th seed Abhishek Yelegar beat Yu Ming 20-22, 21-14, 21-10.

While Kartikey Kumar, Siddharath Thakur, Hemanth Gowda and Harshit Aggarwal ended their campaign.
