First India GPG title (January 2016)

Srikanth began the year running to Olympics on a good note. After crashing out in the semis of Malaysia Masters he came back stronger to win his first India Grand Prix Gold also known as Syed Modi International Badminton Championship. Seeded number 1, he was the favourite going into the tournament.

And he lived upto the expectations, defeating the young Chinese shuttler Huang Yuxiang in three games 21-13, 14-21, 21-14. This triumph meant he claimed his first title at this competition after falling at the final hurdle in the last two years.
