Praneeth bags another title, wins Thailand GPG

SAI PRANEETH adds another title to his name this year, wins the Thailand Grand Prix Gold after beating 19-year-old Jonatan Christie from Indonesia.

It was a well fought final that could have gone either way but Praneeth looked unstoppable from the beginning of this tournament. And that is how he played.

Throughout the tournament, he won his matches in straight games but the final match saw three games that went in favour of the Indian.

After losing the opening game 17-21, Praneeth showed great grit to get back to his form and win the following two games to claim the title.

But Jonatan wasn't making it easy for the Indian. As towards the end of the second and final game, the Indonesian was trying to get back in the game but Praneeth was determined to take this title home and so he did.

After winning the Singapore Super Series title, Praneeth kept his winning momentum in Thailand too. This win will help him go up the ranking ladder and when on Thursday it will be declared, he will have a new career ranking record.
