REWIND: Dhoni shares selfie with Jharkhand squad during his first train commute in 13 years
FORMER INDIA SKIPPER MS Dhoni is all set to lead Jharkhand's ODI squad in the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy. The explosive keeper-batsman, who retired from the longest format of the game in 2015, has always made it a point to enjoy his time while off-national duty.
This time, he has taken to social media to share an image of him with the Jharkhand team, travelling in a train. As we all know, Dhoni could’ve easily afforded a comfortable flight but India’s most successful captain took his first train ride in 13 years to spend time with his teammates. It is also learnt that he did not ask for any special service during the journey.
As reported by PTI, South Eastern Railway chief public relations officer Sanjoy Ghosh said,
"They (Jharkhand) did not have a special coach reserved for them and Dhoni travelled with his team and other co-passengers in 2AC. They had a block booking for 23 passengers including Dhoni."
Dhoni, who worked as ticket inspector in his early days, boarded the Kriya Yoga Express at in Ranchi and alighted in Howrah this morning.
The ‘Captain Cool’-led Jharkhand will begin their campaign against Karnataka at Eden Gardens on February 25.
