Throw children out of the house to play sports in the heat: Dhoni

INDIA'S LIMITED-OVERS skipper MS Dhoni believes that the nation cannot win Olympic medals if young generation sits at home and plays on electronic gadgets. Dhoni further asserted that the youth needs to turn to outdoor sports.

At the announcement of the tie-up between Jabong and Seven, a brand name after Dhoni, the wicket-keeper batsman told PTI,

“We have to throw the kids out of the house to play sport. It will not only help them stay active but also help them in their academics.”

Dhoni further added that the parents need to throw their kids out of the house so that kids start playing in the heat.

“We often say we don’t win medals at Olympics. But we don’t realise how many of our youth is playing outdoor sport. A lot of the kids are hooked to electronic gadgets. So my suggestion to all the parents is throw your children out of the house. Let them play in the heat. Let them find their own way.”

The 35-year-old was recently spotted at the Madrid Cricket Club in Spain. Dhoni, who has retired from the longest form of the game was seen entertaining the Spaniards with explosive boundaries.
