Sindhu in quarter-finals while Ajay ends his campaign at BAC

PV SINDHU continues her winning run at the Badminton Asia Championships as she defeated Japanese Aya Ohori in another easy encounter.

The 4th seed Indian defeated the unseeded Japanese in straight games 21-14, 21-15. Quarter-finals is where her challenge begins as she will face 8th seed He Bingjiao of China. The Chinese leads the head-to-head count 4-3 but Sindhu on a given day can be a lethal opponent and one is aware of her comebacks after being down in the first game.

She can do the same in her quarter-final match tomorrow but expect a close contest.

On the other hand, men's singles shuttler Ajay Jayaram ended his campaign after losing to Hsu Jen Hao 21-19, 21-10. Though the first game saw some fight from the Indian, the second one was too easy for the shuttler from Chinese Taipei.

This leaves Sindhu as the only Indian shuttler left in the tournament.
