Top seeds Alwin/Kona take home the Peru International Challenge title; dedicates title to late Akhilesh Das Gupta

MEN'S DOUBLES DUO of Francis Alwin/Kona Tarun emerge victorious at the Peru International Challenge after they defeated Mario Cuba/Diego Mini (Peru) 21-19, 21-16 in the finals on Sunday.

On their road to the finale, the top seeds Indian duo trumped the likes of the following: in the first round they received a bye; in the second they beat Jose Guevara/Daniel La Torre Regal 21-11, 21-14; Rodrigo Camogliano Telge/Mariano Novoa 21-18, 21-14 in the semis. 

They took social media to express their joy and also dedicated the title win to late Akhilesh Das Gupta, former BAI president.
