RPS rope in Imran Tahir as a replacement for injured Mitch Marsh

RISING PUNE SUPERGIANT has announced South Africa bowler Imran Tahir as a replacement for injured Mitchell Marsh, ahead of the 10th edition of the IPL starting April 5.

Tahir, who was left unsold during the 2017 IPL Player Auction, is a part of the player pool list (RAPP list). As per the player regulations, RPS is allowed to pick replacement player from the RAPP list. According to the BCCI release,

“Australia and Rising Pune Supergiant all-rounder Mitchell Marsh was ruled out of the 10th edition of the VIVO IPL owing to a shoulder injury. As Marsh’s replacement, the franchise has roped in South Africa leg-spinner Imran Tahir into the squad.”

The Protea veteran had featured for Delhi Daredevils in IPL 2016. In his T20I career, the 37-year-old has picked 54-wickets from 31-matches at an economy rate of 6.38.

The Pune franchise will play their first game against Mumbai Indians on April 6 in Pune.
