Chris Gayle
Chris Gayle: (Retained)
Although the mercurial batsman hit a rough patch during the IPL 2016 but there is no denying the fact that the Jamaican can still win games single-handedly. The towering batsman, who managed to score just 227-runs in 10-games, had flown back home mid-way in the tournament to meet his newborn son. The 37-year-old also featured for Karachi Kings in the recently-concluded PSL, however, did not have a great run, scoring just 160-runs in nine innings. RCB will want the marauder of bowling attacks to find his top gear and smash some big scores.
What to expect: He has not been in the best of form lately, but he has a tremendous record playing for the RCB and will remain their main guy at the top. He is expected to open the innings and his role will be to give Bangalore a rollicking start in the powerplay. However, if he doesn't live up to his reputation, he can always be benched like we saw in the previous season.
