INDIA DISCARD Dinesh Karthik started his pre-season with a bang as he hit 142 in the second innings with India Cements beating ONGC by 146 runs in the Moin ud Dowla Gold Cup tournament in Hyderabad.
Moin-Ud-Dowla Gold Cup, a traditional pre-season tournament, is being played on three-day format with both teams needing to play two innings.
Karthik's 142 came off 117 balls in the second innings with 12 fours and five sixes as India Cements scored 265 for three in their second innings. They had scored 353 in their first innings to which ONGC scored 272 in their first essay.
Chasing an improbable 346 in 40 overs, ONGC managed 200 for six with Delhi's Ranji player Milind Kumar 37.
