THE RUNNERS-UP IN 2016, RCB, have always had the best batting line-up and yet have never won the IPL. The Bangalore franchise released seven Indian cricketers and three foreign players in Kane Richardson, David Wiese and Chris Jordan before the auction. Already having 20 players before the auction, RCB acquired a total of five players during the bidding event.

Surprisingly, RCB chairman Amrith Thomas splurged Rs 12 crore on England paceman Tymal mills in an effort to bolster the bowling department. And, after buying Rajasthan seamer Aniket Choudhary for Rs 2 crore, the franchise roped in their second overseas player, Billy Stanlake for Rs 30 lakhs.
