Ildar Amirov

Ildar Amirov

The signing of Ildar Amirov came only a whie earlier. He is the player the Red and Golds are bring in on the Asian quota. And considering the final third shortcomings they showed in the first game against Aizawl FC, he seems like a proper fit for the team.

Forward line player Amirov hails from Kyrgyzstan. He has earned 33 caps for his national team. The over 6.2 foot striker will not make it easy for defenders in the aerial duel. Before arriving at East Bengal, he plied his trade at Turanspor playing in the Turkish Regional Amateur League which is the fifth tier of Turkish football.

He is coming in hot with scoring 42 goals in just 31 games, that is an average of 1.35 goals per game. Opposition must watch out for this tall striker with a knack of goal scoring.

The only downside to his record appears to be his lack of success for the national team. After playing 33 matches for his country he only has 2 goals to his name. But one of them came against India back in 2010. So one can assume he has the equivalence of quality when it comes to I-League.
