EAST BENGAL HAVE reached the semi-finals of the Durand Cup 2023,

Taking on Gokulam Kerala FC in the quarter finals, they edged the Malabarians 2-1 in a game where an error played a decisive role.

East Bengal got ahead within a minute of the game. The first time they got a corner, Jordan set up a brilliant finisher for Borja to get them the lead. Although GKFC did well to keep attacking for the rest of the half, they failed to find a break-through.

The equalizer came near the hour mark when Bouba found the net. But ultimately it was Bouba himself who caused an own goal towards the end of the game, handing East Bengal a 2-1 win.

The victory sets up a semi-final clash between East Bengal and NorthEast United.
