Should be fit soon for the IPL, but also keen on playing Test cricket, says Yuvraj

AFTER MAKING A COMEBACK in the Indian T20 squad, the injured Yuvraj Singh now wants to quickly get back into the IPL and perform in order to get a Test recall.

As reported by TNN, Yuvraj says,

"India is playing 13-15 Tests in India next. I've scored six seven hundreds in the past couple of seasons in the Ranji Trophy . If I get a chance to play on spinning tracks, I've been playing spin well. I'd love to play Test cricket again."

Yuvraj has had an irregular stint in Tests, playing 40 matches in a span of 13 years. This is mainly because of his inability to play spin very well. Due to a high backlift, the Punjab-player finds it difficult to smother the spin of the ball on time.

In his short Test career, Yuvraj averages a moderate 33.92 and has scored three hundred's, all of which have come against Pakistan with a highest of 169 at Bangalore in 2007.

The southpaw is currently out of action due to an injury sustained to his ankle during the league game against Australia in the World T20 at Mohali but is looking forward to turning up for his IPL franchise the Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 6.

"I am looking to play the game on May 6. Hopefully ,I should be ready by then. It's not certain that I will play on May 6, but my target is to play on that day," Yuvraj said.
