Sunrisers coast to victory with a ten-wicket over the Lions

SUNRISERS HYDERABAD OPENERS David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan scored fifties and cruised to a ten-wicket win against the Gujarat Lions in their away game at Rajkot.

Warner 74* along with Dhawan 53* got off to a flier and took full advantage of the Powerplay, scoring close to 11-an-over for the first six overs.

The openers never looked back, as they continued their domination, belting the spinners as well as the pacers with equal ease. Warner, in particular, kept creaming the offside and found the boundary regularly.

In the process, Warner also overtook Gautam Gambhir as the Orange Cap holder for the time being.

It was surprising to see spinner Pravin Tambe, being introduced so late in the attack, giving GL no chance to get back in the game.

Earlier, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar led from the front as he castled Aaron Finch in the first over of the match to get SRH going.

That got skipper Suresh Raina at the crease as he found his touch with a few boundaries, but Bipul Sharma broke the 56-run partnership as he removed the other dangerman Brendon McCullum.

Raina, on his part, played a captain's knock of 75 in just 51 deliveries, but found no other batsman matching his skill right through the innings.

In the middle and death overs Mustafizur Rahman, bowled miserly to concede only 19 runs in his four overs, which included disturbing Ravindra Jadeja's timber.

Part-timer Moises Henriques, too went at almost six-an-over only to strangle the GL batsmen and not give them any acceleration.

Kumar was the pick amongst the bowlers, and bowled well in the death, too, ending  with four wickets for 29 runs and earning himself a Man of the Match performance for the same.

The win was the second for SRH in as many games, whereas it was the first loss for GL in the tournament.
