Shikhar’s form not a worry; he is gifted and can win matches for us: Laxman

SUNRISERS HYDERABAD MENTOR VVS Laxman said that Shikhar Dhawan's slump in form is not a worry for the team. The out-of-form opener has managed to score just 16 runs in 3 innings so far. 

As quoted by cricbuzz, the legendary middle-order batsman said,

"Shikhar's form is not a worry for SRH team. He is a gifted player and when he plays well he finishes off the match. He is a match winning player."

However, the SRH team Mentor summoned the need for the opener and the middle order batsmen to step up their game to compliment David Warner's batting.

"Warner has been in fantastic form and he played many match winning knocks, but other batsmen particularly domestic players coming in the middle order need to contribute more with the bats. If openers and middle orders managed to click then the team certainly enjoys comfortable position."

Ahead of the match against the Gujarat Lions at the Saurashtra Cricket Association stadium on Thursday, Laxman further expressed his delight on how his bowlers did a wonderful job against the defending champions Mumbai Indians a few days ago. 

"The bowlers have done well so far for SRH, particularly in the game against Mumbai Indians. Bhuvneshwar, Bipul, Sran all did well against Mumbai Indians and it's really great to have a first win."
