Need to gel together to work out a complete game, says David Warner

SUNRISERS HYDERABAD CAPTAIN DAVID WARNER blamed his side’s inability to work out a ‘complete game’, to be the reason for two successive defeats. The Skipper told espncricinfo,

"Our bowlers have, sort of, missed the mark in the last two games. I felt that execution wasn't there. We bowled probably one or two bad overs last night. Up front, we were very good, but we still haven't had the complete game. I think last year and this year, we still haven't worked out the complete game. The batters haven't worked well with the bowlers."

While acknowledging short-comings in his team, Warner, who was the leading run-scorer of the last season, didn’t shy away from pointing out his own mistakes. Longing for a ‘complete game’, the Aussie opener said gelling together and working out as a team could get the team to its winning ways.

"We look at last year, for example, we score 200 and should be winning comfortable and then we win but they get close to the total. Where we got 150, we defended that very well. It's hard. We have to gel and work together as much as we can.”

Having lost both matches so far, Sunrisers lie at the bottom of the points table. Warner’s side will look to turn the tables in their fixture against Mumbai Indians on Monday, at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium. Ahead of the tie, the Southpaw reckoned his team had to ‘switch on’ for this game.

"Tomorrow we're playing Mumbai, and we have to be on guard with them, because last year they lost five and then went on a hot winning streak. You know, we've got to really come out firing because I think this game's going to be the game where we gel together. We bat and bowl well and we field well. They are going to be hungry as well. But we have to be switched on and make sure we keep executing our plans. We can't keep talking about it, we have to do it on the day."
