After Tambe, now Abdullah reveals that he was made an 'offer'

INITIALLY IT WAS Rajasthan Royal's Praveen Tambe who reported to the BCCI about being approached by a 'fellow cricketer' who offered him money for following a set pattern of play. And now Iqbal Abdullah, Mumbai and Royal Challengers Bangalore left arm spinner reveals that he was approached by an unnamed person and offered him money in return for team information.

According to a report in the Indian Express, the offer came from a person calling himself a 'big fan' approached Abdullah coercing him into posing for snaps after relentlessly calling him on the phone.
It is also stated that he immediately reported the incident to BCCI's anti-corruption officer associated with RCB.

"This particular incident demonstrates that BCCI's education policy against corruption is showing results, as the player approached was vigilant enough to report the matter to the ACU of the BCCI,"

the board's secretary Anurag Thakur had said after the Shah-Tambe incident.

"Having said that, the fight against corruption is an ongoing battle and we will not leave any stone unturned. BCCI is committed to keep cricket corruption-free,"

he said.

The fight against corruption seems to be a long running one but if players cooperating with the authorities partly eases the burden on the board amidst the Lalit Modi saga, the Lodha committee report.
