A NEW REVELATION about the Virat Kohli - Gautam Gambhir verbal spat has taken the Indian cricket fandom by storm.
Fans were shocked when Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli got into a heated argument with Lucknow Super Giants mentor Gautam Gambhir.
The incident began with an exchange between Kohli and LSG's star bowler Naveen-ul-Haq; where the latter appeared to pull the former's hand forcefully during the post-match handshake. Gambhir intervened and the matter devolved into an argument.
Now, the Afghan star cricketer has provided his side of the story for the first time. Speaking to BBC Pashton on how the incident took place, he said,
"After the match was over, I shook hands with Kohli and moved to the other players but Virat did not let go of my hand, which is why I had to pull his hand... I never sledge with anyone, but if someone tries to mess with me, I do not hold back, regardless of who it is in front of me."
For the exchange, IPL took disciplinary action against both players. While Naveen-ul-Haq had half of his match fees docked, Virat Kohli was fined his entire match fees.
