For me team comes first, batting position hardly matters: Raina

INDIAN BATSMAN SURESH RAINA has been one of the floaters in the batting line-up for the limited overs cricket. While, the southpaw has been tried at the no.3 slot and succeeded, India’s premier batsman Virat Kohli has made the no.3 position his own.

However, Raina is hardly perturbed by his demotion down the order and is focused on winning matches for India regardless of the position he bats in.

As reported by ibnlive, Raina said,

“Batting position does not matter, I want India to win. We have Yuvraj Singh in our side and he is not getting chances as well. Everyone in the team can bat on every spot.”

Speaking about the upcoming Asia Cup and World T20, the 29 year old added,

“Asia cup will be good preparation. Winning is important and if we win, we will take the momentum to World Cup. Playing matches is more important than practice because during an international match there is pressure and there is a real feel to it.”

Speaking about the world record (fastest 100 in Tests) his Gujarat Lions team-mate Brendon McCullum created today, Raina said,

“I hope someone from India breaks that record.”
