Pinkathon 2016 held in Bangalore

OVER 10,000 WOMEN PARTICIPATED in Pinkathon 2016 which was held in Bangalore on 31st January. The annual race is held cross multiple cities in India to raise awareness on the importance of women’s health and breast cancer.
Participants ran in 4 race categories – 21k, 10k, 5k and 3k. The day also saw participation of Cancer survivors and mothers who carried their babies during the race. There was also a special category dedicated to participants who are hearing and visually impaired.
In the lead up to the event, the organizers ensured that theme of the event was promoted throughout the weekend. On 30th January, 1,000 saplings were planted across Bangalore.
The next edition of the race is slated to take place in Hyderabad on March 6th.
