Milind Soman takes it up a notch; Moves over from Ironman to Ultraman

INDIA'S VERY OWN IRONMAN MILIND SOMAN has raised the bar and bagged another accolade to his name. The Ironman has officially now transformed into an Ultraman. After registering for the Florida Ultraman 2017 race, Milind Soman along with 4 other Indians completed the ultra-endurance triathlon which is known as the toughest triathlon in the world so far.

In case you're wondering what makes this race so tough, well you're in for a shocker as the ultraman challenge requires each participant to cover a whopping 517.5 kms over a span of 36 hours spread over three days (12 hours each day). The tedious and tiresome triathlon consists of a 10 km open water swim, a 423 km bike ride and an 84 km ultra-marathon run which is technically a double marathon. The event is an invite-only contest and is a gruelling task that puts to test the participant's physical and mental strengths because of the tough terrain and rough weather.

After gifting himself the Ironman trophy for his 50th birthday, Milind Soman took it up a notch by competing in the strenuous oddysey and completed it within the stipulated time to prove that age is just a number. The Pinkathon ambassador was accompanied by his training partner Abhishek Mishra, 13-time Ironman winner Dr. Kaustubh Radkar, Prithviraj Patil and Manmadh Rebba  who represented the Indian camp among 45 participants from all over the world. All five of them completed the demanding challenge and brought great pride to the country by raising the Indian flag high.

The fitness enthusiast showed true grit and determination throughtout the herculean task as both his cyle tyres got punctured during day 1 but that didn't deter him as he went on to fix it under extreme weather conditions and continued the race to finish the day's quota with flying colours. And what's more astonishing is the fact that the running evangelist completed the entire triathlon barefooted and was the only one who did so. He was supported by his mother who travelled to Florida and congratulated him at the finish line. After completing the race, the Indian superhero, Ultraman took to social media to share his achievement.
