Bhambri/Sharan ousted Raja/Begemman advance to the doubles semis of Hua Hin Open

YUKI BHAMBRI AND DIVIJ SHARAN have crashed out from the doubles event of the HUA HIN, ATP challenger tournament after falling to Tatsuma Hito and Toshihide Matsui 6-4, 6-3 in the first round in Thailand today. 

The Japanese pair put the Indian duo under pressure and broke to gain the early advantage to seal the set. A similar pattern continued in the second set as Bhambri/Sharan lost serve twice to crash out early from the tournament in 57 minutes. While, Hito/Matsui managed to convert all three break points, the Indians were presented with just a single break point opportunity. 

While, Sharan did not feature in the singles draw, Bhambri had to retire in his first round of his singles encounter yesterday. 

Meanwhile, another Indian hope, Purav Raja with his Belgian partner, Andre Begemman have sailed into the doubles semis today after beating Amir Weintraub and  Peter Gojowczyk 6-4, 6-2. 

Raja/Begemann had an impressive 84% of points won on their first serve and also managed to break their opponents thrice to seal the match in 45 minutes. 

The top seeds will play their doubles semis on Friday.
