FAVOURITE ONE: Prime Minister Modi bats for sports "connected with our soil"

WHAT IS PRIME MINISTER Narendra Modi's favourite sport? The answer may surprise you.

Recently during an episode of his radio show 'Mann Ki Baat' a student athlete asked him which sport he liked the most. At this point, a common guess would be cricket. But he said,

"Hockey, football, kabaddi and kho kho are connected with our soil. We should never lag behind in  those."

While his choice of sports may come as a surprise to many, the signs have always been there. He had tweeted congratulating Mohun Bagan the last time they won the I-League. And he has attended the Indian team's football matches on multiple occasions. He has also been vocal in his support for the Indian hockey team.
