Sakshi, Vinesh, Bajrang postpone press meet after Section 144 imposed near Rajghat

WRESTLERS WHO LED the protest against former WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh were scheduled to do a press conference near Rajghat, New Delhi today, but it was postponed due to Section 144 being imposed on the area.

Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia spent months at the portest, accusing the former WFI chief of sexual harassment among other crimes. Ultimately, the police filed an FIR against Singh following the Supreme Court's intervention.

The press conference today was expected to be on the same topic. But it was postponed due to the area around Red Fort, which included Rajghat, going under Section 144 as a security measure ahead of Independence Day celebrations.

Vinesh Phogat, in a tweet, announced that the press meet will be held at a latter date and venue.
