CFL 2023: East Bengal held to a draw by minnows Rainbow AC
EAST BENGAL GOT OFF to a disappointing start in Calcutta Football League (Premier Division) 2023 season.
Taking on Rainboaw AC, who played in the Premier Division B (de facto second tier) of the CFL last season, put on a stellar defesive display to hold the Red and Golds to a goalless draw in Kolkata's Kishore Bharati Stadium today.
East Bengal have fielded their reserve squad at the CFL this season. Still, not getting a win over the team that lost to George Telegraph in their previous game, is not a good way to start the 2023-24 season for the Red and Golds.
The IFA is yet to publish the fixtures of CFL Premier Division's Group B fixtures beyond 14th July so neither team at know at this point (at least officially) when and who they will play against next.
