SAFF Championship final tickets sold out, fans rush to mega event

INDIAN FOOTBALL FANS making last minute plans to catch SAFF Championship final in the stadium are in for a disappointment.

The long awaited finale, which may be Sunil Chhetri's last cup final for the national team on home soil, has caused a stir among fans that was not even seen at the blockbuster India vs Pakistan game two weeks ago.

The tickets to this high profile match sold out almost two days beforehand. The West Block and domestic fans' sections of East Block were bought up by the fans immediately; even the VIP and premium sections practically evaporated.

Tickets are sold out

The North Block's upper tier, which used to cost Rs 99, cost Rs 199 for this match and even that ran out. The lower tier also filled up very quickly after that.

Although the tickets are long gone, there's still a steady stream of fans travelling from neighbouring cities and states coming to Bengaluru with the hope of finding a ticket to see the match. Social media, especially fans' groups, are filled with people asking others for spare tickets.

It's obviously an occasion that no football fan would want to miss out on, but since it's happening on a Tuesday, there were concerns about the fan response. But given the rush from the supporters, the organisers can now rest easy.
