Dhoni will first call and inform CSK's owner Srinivasan on playing in IPL again
CHENNAI SUPER KINGS' chief executive officer, Kasi Viswanathan, knows how Dhoni will reveal if he will play in the next edition of the IPL for the franchise.
"He (Dhoni) knows what to do, how to go about it, so we aren't going to ask him 'what are you going to do, how' etc. He will inform us on his own. Whatever he's doing, he'll call first and inform only Mr N Srinivasan, not anyone else. Factually, he'll be straightforward with him. From him, we'll get the information that this is what he's doing. It's been this way since 2008. That's how it will continue," Viswanathan revealed while speaking to ESPNcricinfo.
He said that he visited the iconic cricketer in Mumbai after Dhoni had attended team mate Ruturaj Gaikwad's wedding. Viswanathan said it was only a coutesy call and MSD told him that he would be resting for three weeks and then start his rehab programme. "And like he said, he's not going to play until January-February. We don't need to remind him about all that," Viswanathan told ESPNcricinfo.
Though Dhoni suffered from a knee injury during the IPL this year, he played all matches and led CSK to a record-equalling fifth title. Immediately after the final, he underwent a surgery and is now recuperating from it.
